The Humiliating Failure of Israel’s “Begin Doctrine” Against Iran’s Nuclear Program
Israel’s “Begin Doctrine,” a military strategy aimed at preemptively destroying nuclear capabilities in the region, has failed against Iran, as Tehran’s advanced nuclear infrastructure and scientific resilience have proven insurmountable.
Kokcha News Agency: Israel’s “Begin Doctrine,” a military-security strategy that allows the regime to launch preemptive strikes against nuclear facilities in the region without international approval, has faced a humiliating failure in its attempts to halt Iran’s nuclear program.
The doctrine, named after former Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin, was successfully implemented in cases like the 1981 attack on Iraq’s Osirak reactor and the 2007 strike on Syria’s nuclear facilities. However, it has proven ineffective against Iran, which has developed a robust nuclear infrastructure, including a complete indigenous nuclear fuel cycle, advanced defense systems, and a multi-layered security network.
Iran’s Scientific and Technological Resilience
Unlike Iraq and Syria, Iran has not only localized its nuclear fuel cycle but has also built a powerful scientific and research infrastructure, dispersed sensitive facilities, and created a sophisticated defense system. These advancements have made Iran’s nuclear program resilient to sabotage and attacks.
Failed Israeli Efforts
In recent years, Israel has attempted to disrupt Iran’s nuclear program through assassinations of scientists like Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, sabotage of facilities such as Natanz, and cyberattacks. However, none of these efforts have succeeded in halting Iran’s progress. Instead, they have accelerated the localization of nuclear technologies and strengthened national resolve.
The Collapse of the Begin Doctrine
Iran’s nuclear resistance against two decades of unprecedented pressure and attacks, including assassinations, sabotage, and sanctions, has demonstrated its remarkable resilience. The failure of the “Begin Doctrine” against Iran marks one of Israel’s greatest strategic blunders in recent decades.
