EU Weighs New Sanctions on Israel

Kokcha News Agency reports: The proposed sanctions being considered by the EU include a complete suspension of the cooperation agreement between the EU and Israel, limiting trade relations, imposing sanctions on several Israeli ministers, an arms embargo, and revoking the visa waiver program for Israeli citizens.

However, according to reports, it is unlikely that the EU member states will reach an agreement to implement any of these punitive measures against Israel.

The divide within the union on how to respond to the situation in Gaza is expected to hinder a consensus on imposing new sanctions.
