Israel Releases Last 2 Activists Detained from Hanzala Ship in International Waters

Kokcha News Agency: The Israeli human rights organization Adalah announced that the last two activists detained from the Hanzala ship in international waters have been released.

Christian Smalls, a U.S. citizen, and Hatem Aouini, a Tunisian citizen, who had been held in poor conditions for five days in violation of international law, were deported to Jordan early this morning.

Aouini was reportedly met by officials from the Tunisian Embassy at the Jordanian border. The release of these activists marks the end of a contentious episode involving the Hanzala ship, which was intercepted by Israeli forces in international waters.
