Prince Harry Fears Losing Right to Live in UK if Prince William Becomes King, Experts Say
Royal experts suggest that Prince Harry is concerned about losing his right to live in the UK if his brother, Prince William, ascends to the throne, amid ongoing tensions within the royal family.
Kokcha News: Recent speculation about a potential reconciliation between King Charles and his son, Prince Harry, has been met with skepticism by royal experts. According to Tom Bower, author of Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors, the rift between father and son remains significant, and Prince Harry fears being ostracized if Prince William becomes king.
Bower claims that Harry is “desperate” to repair his relationship with his father, but the chances of reconciliation are slim, especially as King Charles continues his cancer treatment and family tensions persist. Bower stated, “Harry needs to meet with Charles to regain his standing in the UK, but the palace is not allowing him that opportunity at the moment.”
Recent Developments:
Harry’s private secretary, Meredith Maines, and PR manager, Liam Maguire, recently met with King Charles’s communications secretary, Tobyn Andreae, in London. This meeting sparked hopes of a possible thaw in the relationship between Harry and his father. However, the two have not been in the same room since Harry’s brief visit to London in February 2024, following the announcement of the King’s cancer diagnosis.
Harry’s next visit to the UK is expected in September, but it may coincide with King Charles and Queen Camilla’s annual holiday in Balmoral, making a meeting unlikely.
Impact of Harry’s Memoir:
Prince Harry’s 2023 memoir, Spare, further strained his relationships with the royal family, particularly with Prince William, Kate Middleton, and Queen Camilla. Bower described Harry as “unpredictable and uncontrollable,” adding that “his greatest enemy is himself.”
Meghan’s Role:
Unlike Harry, Meghan Markle has no interest in repairing her relationship with the royal family. Bower noted that Meghan is entirely focused on her lifestyle brand, As Ever and With Love, and is currently working on its second season. This focus has reportedly put additional strain on her marriage to Harry.
Experts believe that any contact between Harry and King Charles would require approval from the King’s closest advisors. However, Harry’s issues are not currently a priority for the palace. Bower explained, “Charles’s health is the top priority, followed by William’s transition to the throne. Harry’s problems are not even seen as a matter of concern. He doesn’t have the luxury of going to the palace to see his father.”
As tensions within the royal family continue, Prince Harry’s future in the UK remains uncertain, with fears that he may lose his right to live there if Prince William becomes king. Meanwhile, Meghan Markle’s focus on her career further complicates the couple’s relationship with the monarchy.
