Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has declared a state of emergency in several regions due to worsening weather conditions.

In a dramatic turn of events, a reporter from local channel Ruhi TV, Ali Musa Raza, was swept away by floodwaters while broadcasting live from the flood-hit area. Raza, who was reporting from within the floodwaters, said, “You can see the water is pushing me. It’s very difficult to stand here. I need to get to safety,” before being carried away by the current.

Raza later explained that he was reporting from within the floodwaters to highlight the hardships faced by the local population.
