Trump Comments on India-Pakistan Clash and Ceasefire

Kokcha News Agency — President Donald Trump made new remarks about the ongoing conflict between India and Pakistan during a dinner with Republican Senators at the White House.

Trump claimed that the US has stopped many wars and described the recent escalation as very serious, noting that India and Pakistan engaged in a fierce conflict involving aerial combat.

“These are two serious nuclear countries that were attacking each other,” Trump said, though he did not provide further details. He emphasized his diplomatic role in helping broker a ceasefire between the two nations on May 10, following a series of tense exchanges.

The escalation began when India launched missile strikes into Pakistan-controlled Azad Kashmir on April 22 in retaliation for a terrorist attack in Kashmir. Pakistan responded with missile attacks on Indian-held areas on May 6. Both countries agreed to a ceasefire, facilitated by US mediation, on May 10 to de-escalate the situation.
