Gaza Hospital Director and Health Ministry Spokesperson Marwan al-Hams Injured and Abducted by Israeli Forces

Kokcha News Agency: The Gaza Health Ministry has reported that Marwan al-Hams, the Director of Abu Yusuf al-Najjar Hospital and spokesperson for the ministry, was injured in the foot and abducted by a “special armed unit” of Israeli forces. According to the ministry, eyewitnesses confirmed that al-Hams was detained by the Israeli unit while he was on his way to a field hospital in southern Gaza.

The ministry’s statement expressed deep concern over al-Hams’ health condition and described the incident as a “serious violation of freedom of expression and humanitarian work.” The statement demanded his immediate release, emphasizing that his abduction occurred while he was performing his medical and humanitarian duties.

The Palestinian government in Gaza has condemned the abduction, labeling it a “war crime.” In a written statement from the Government Media Office, it was revealed that Israeli forces opened fire on the ambulance carrying al-Hams and his colleagues, killing one person and injuring two others.

The incident has sparked outrage in Gaza, with many calling for international intervention to address the escalating violence and human rights violations in the region.
