Syria Announces Comprehensive Ceasefire Amid Suwayda Clashes; Israel Vows Continued Strikes
The Syrian government has declared a full ceasefire to protect civilians and restore stability, deploying security forces to Suwayda, while Israel signals its military operations will persist.
Kokcha News Agency: The Syrian Presidency announced an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire, citing the need to protect civilians, ensure territorial integrity, and maintain public security.
Security forces have been deployed to Suwayda, where clashes between Bedouin Arab tribes and Druze armed groups have intensified.
Syrian President Ahmed Shara thanked Turkey, the U.S., and Arab nations for their support, while condemning Israel’s military actions, which he claimed escalated tensions in the region.
The Israeli military, however, stated it would continue operations near the Syrian border to prevent further civilian crossings.
