US Ambassador to Ankara and Special Envoy for Syria Tom Barrack Meets with SDF Commander Mazlum Abdi

Kokcha News Agency: US Ambassador to Ankara and Special Envoy for Syria, Tom Barrack, met with Mazlum Abdi, the commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), to discuss the current situation in Syria and the urgent steps required to address the ongoing crisis. The meeting was announced via the US Embassy in Damascus’ social media account, which stated that the two sides agreed that it is time for unity in Syria.

Barrack also thanked the SDF for its cooperation in the fight against ISIS (DAESH) in Syria. This meeting follows a trilateral meeting on July 13 between Barrack, Mazlum Abdi, and Syrian President Ahmed Al-Shara in Damascus.

According to reports from the Jordanian News Agency (Petra) and the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), Barrack also met with Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Al-Safadi and his Syrian counterpart, Faisal Mekdad, in Amman. These discussions are part of broader diplomatic efforts to address the Syrian crisis and foster regional stability.
