Israeli Media Claims Embassy Staff Evacuated from Greece Amid Mass Protests
Israeli media reports suggest that the Tel Aviv administration has evacuated staff from its embassy in Athens, Greece, due to large-scale protests and planned demonstrations against Israel’s actions in Gaza.

Kokcha News Agency – According to reports from the Israeli newspaper *Israel Hayom*, the staff of the Israeli Embassy in Athens has been evacuated following escalating tensions and planned protests in Greece.
The protests, organized by left-wing groups in Greece, are set to take place on August 10 under the banner of the “Gaza March.” The demonstrations are expected to draw tens of thousands of participants, prompting concerns over the safety of Israeli personnel and tourists.
The tensions were further fueled by comments made by Israeli Ambassador to Greece, Noam Katz, who claimed in an interview with the Greek newspaper *Kathimerini* that some graffiti in Athens supporting Palestine was “anti-Semitic” and that Israeli tourists were experiencing security concerns.
Katz’s remarks drew sharp criticism from various political parties in Greece, including the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), the Radical Left Coalition (SYRIZA), and the New Left Party. These groups accused Katz of mislabeling legitimate expressions of solidarity with Palestine as anti-Semitism.
