Israeli Woman Detained on Suspicion of Plotting Assassination Against Netanyahu
Israel’s internal security agency, Shin Bet, has detained a woman on suspicion of planning to assassinate Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to Israeli media reports.
Kokcha News Agency: A woman in Israel has been detained on suspicion of plotting to assassinate Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The arrest was announced by Israel’s public broadcaster KAN, with details emerging that the suspect was taken into custody two weeks ago.
According to The Jerusalem Post, the woman was allegedly planning to attack Netanyahu using a homemade explosive device. She was later released under the condition that she is prohibited from approaching any government institutions or the Prime Minister.
KAN reported that an indictment against the woman is expected to be filed on Thursday, July 24, charging her with “conspiracy to commit a crime and engage in terrorist activity.”
Ynet, another Israeli news outlet, reported that the suspect lives in central Israel. She was interrogated first by Shin Bet and then by the Israeli police’s special crimes unit.
Further details about the case remain under a gag order, restricting the release of additional information.
