Israel’s Explosive “Robot” Vehicles Spread Terror in Gaza, Destroying Buildings
Israel’s military is using explosive-laden "robot" vehicles to target neighborhoods in Gaza, causing widespread destruction and forcing thousands of Palestinians to flee their homes.
Kokcha News Agency – Israel’s military, which has been conducting a genocidal campaign in the Gaza Strip for nearly two years, is now using explosive-laden “robot” vehicles to target neighborhoods in Gaza City. These remote-controlled vehicles are deployed to minimize Israeli ground casualties while causing massive destruction.
According to data from the Palestinian government in Gaza, since the start of the occupation attacks on August 13, over 100 explosive-laden vehicles have been detonated, forcing thousands of Palestinians from their homes, killing 1,100 people, and injuring 6,008.
Security sources in Gaza report that these “robot” vehicles are usually sent into neighborhoods unmanned at night and detonated remotely. Each explosion causes destructive effects within a 300-meter radius, leading to the collapse of adjacent buildings in a chain reaction.
The Switzerland-based Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor stated that the Israeli army destroys approximately 300 homes daily using this method, with each vehicle capable of obliterating 20 homes in a single explosion. The blasts can be heard up to 40 kilometers away.
Two Types of Explosive Robots
Palestinian military expert Rami Abu Zubaydeh told AA that Israel uses two types of robots. The first type includes tracked vehicles, similar to old M113 armored personnel carriers, which are remotely guided and detonated to completely destroy neighborhoods before ground troops advance. The second type consists of small ground robots, which are sent with explosive payloads to tunnel entrances or populated areas for attacks.
Abu Zubaydeh emphasized that while Israel’s robot attacks have not eliminated the operational capacity of Palestinian resistance groups, civilian casualties have increased significantly.
Why Robots Are Used in Occupation Attacks
Abu Zubaydeh explained that the primary goal of Israel’s use of robots is to minimize direct confrontations with Palestinian fighters, destroy explosives and buildings in advance to create corridors for Israeli forces, and reduce Israeli military casualties.
He noted that this strategy has led to severe humanitarian losses, with entire neighborhoods wiped out, hundreds of families left homeless, and a psychological impact that forces people to flee in fear.
Heavy Consequences of the Attacks and Forced Displacement
Israel’s “robot attacks” have resulted in the destruction of numerous buildings in Gaza, causing heavy physical and psychological consequences for Palestinians.
The Palestinian government in Gaza reported that over 100 explosive-laden vehicles have been detonated in these attacks, forcing thousands of Palestinians to flee their homes, killing 1,100, and injuring 6,008.
Israel’s Security Cabinet approved a plan on August 8 to occupy Gaza City in the northern region. The plan involves forcing approximately 1 million Palestinians to migrate south, besieging the city, and occupying it after intense attacks. The second phase involves occupying refugee camps in central Gaza, which have been largely reduced to rubble.
Israel occupied the Gaza Strip from 1967 to 2005, a period of 38 years. The Gaza Strip, home to around 2.3 million Palestinians, has been under a severe blockade for 18 years.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel’s genocidal attacks in Gaza have killed over 64,000 Palestinians and injured more than 162,000. Most of the victims are women and children. Over 9,000 people are reported missing, and hundreds of thousands have been forcibly displaced.
