Palestine’s UN Mission: Israel Kills 100 Civilians Daily in Gaza

The Palestinian Authority has accused Israel of killing 100 civilians daily in the Gaza Strip, stating that the killings occur in tents and on the streets. The statement was made during a UN Security Council session, where Palestinian officials highlighted the ongoing genocide and the use of starvation as a weapon of war.

During a session of the UN Security Council, Majed Bamya, Deputy Permanent Representative of Palestine to the United Nations, accused Israel of committing genocide in Gaza, particularly since October 7, 2023, when the latest wave of violence began.

Bamya stated, “The occupation (Israel) uses starvation as a weapon of war, destroys homes and hospitals, and kills 100 civilians daily in tents and on the streets.”

He further emphasized that Israel is not only starving and killing Palestinians in Gaza but also torturing them by restricting humanitarian aid. Bamya highlighted that Israel has confined Palestinians in Gaza to only 16% of the territory, turning the region into one of the most densely populated areas in the world.

Bamya accused Israel of forcing Palestinians in Gaza to leave their land, a move that has drawn widespread condemnation from the international community.

He also noted that Gaza has received global support, but stressed that accountability for the perpetrators is essential. Bamya reiterated that the solution lies in the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip have resulted in the deaths of at least 56,531 Palestinians and injuries to 133,642 others.
