Number of Israeli Soldiers Who Committed Suicide in July Rises to 7
The number of Israeli soldiers who have committed suicide in July has risen to seven, with the latest incident involving a reservist who took his own life due to severe trauma experienced during his service in the Gaza Strip.

Kokcha News Agency: The Israeli military has reported that the number of soldiers who have committed suicide in July has reached seven. The latest case involves Roi Wasserstein, a 24-year-old reservist from the 401st Armored Brigade, who took his own life on Wednesday due to “horrific trauma experienced during his service.”
According to Israeli military radio, Wasserstein served for over 300 days in the Medical Evacuation Unit in the Gaza Strip. However, since he was not on active duty at the time of his death, he will not receive a military funeral and will be buried in a civilian ceremony.
The Haaretz newspaper highlighted that seven Israeli soldiers who served in Gaza have committed suicide since the beginning of July. This alarming trend raises concerns about the mental health and psychological toll on soldiers involved in prolonged military operations.
The Israeli military has faced increasing scrutiny over the mental health support provided to its soldiers, particularly those serving in high-stress environments like the Gaza Strip. The ongoing conflict and the harsh conditions of military service have been cited as contributing factors to the rising number of suicides among troops.
