During the disaster, a community kitchen distributing food was swept away by the floodwaters, leading to casualties among those involved in the distribution. Authorities warned that the condition of the injured is critical, and the death toll is expected to rise.

The Indian Ministry of Home Affairs issued a statement, assuring that the government is closely monitoring the situation and stands in solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir under all circumstances.
