Two women who sought relief from the heatwave by swimming in different beaches in Cornwall, England, tragically lost their lives. Authorities have confirmed that the incidents are unrelated.

Kokcha News: Two women died after swimming in separate beaches in Cornwall, England, as the region grapples with a heatwave. The incidents, which occurred on Sunday, are not believed to be connected, according to police.

The first incident took place around midday at Portreath Beach near St Ives. A woman, believed to be in her 50s, was pulled from the water after reportedly suffering a suspected heart attack. Despite immediate medical intervention, she could not be saved.

Just hours later, a second tragic incident occurred at Porthcothan Beach near Padstow. Another woman was found face down and motionless in the water. Emergency services pronounced her dead at the scene.

In a statement, police said, “At this time, there is no evidence to suggest the incidents are connected.”

The deaths have raised concerns about water safety during the ongoing heatwave, which has driven many to seek relief in the sea. Authorities are urging the public to exercise caution when swimming, especially in unmonitored areas.
