Amnesty International Calls for Restoration of Rule of Law and Democratic Governance in Afghanistan
Amnesty International has described Afghanistan’s current judicial system as unfair and arbitrary, calling for the restoration of the rule of law and formal legal frameworks in the country.

Kokcha News Agency – Amnesty International has criticized Afghanistan’s current judicial system, labeling it as unfair and arbitrary, and has called for the restoration of the rule of law and formal legal frameworks in the country.
In a statement marking the fourth anniversary of the Taliban’s takeover, the organization emphasized that Afghanistan must adhere to its international human rights obligations and align with global standards.
In response, the Taliban’s Ministry of Justice stated that over the past year, it has drafted 140 legislative documents, most of which are based on Quranic verses, Hadiths, and Hanafi jurisprudence.
The ministry also announced that five new laws, including the Financial Accounting Law and the Law on Prevention of Food and Drug Smuggling, have been approved by the Taliban leader and will soon be published.
However, international organizations have repeatedly stressed that the suspension of the 2004 Constitution and the repeal of laws protecting human rights have plunged Afghanistan into a legal crisis.
