Afghanistan United Front Vows to Liberate Afghanistan from Taliban Rule
On the fourth anniversary of the fall of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the Afghanistan United Front held a pivotal meeting in Virginia, uniting former Afghan and U.S. military personnel, experts, and activists to declare that the Taliban regime is unsustainable and must be overthrown.
Kokcha News Agency – On 17 August 2024, the Afghanistan United Front convened its second meeting of former Afghan-American soldiers at its Political Office in Virginia. The gathering brought together veterans of the War on Terror, intelligence and counterterrorism experts, military leaders, political figures, journalists, and activists. The meeting concluded with a resolute message: the Taliban regime is illegitimate and Afghanistan must be liberated.
Participants shared harrowing accounts of life under Taliban rule, highlighting the regime’s oppressive tactics, including the brainwashing of Afghan youth to promote violence and tyranny. They warned against misleading narratives that portray the Taliban as a stabilizing force, emphasizing that Afghanistan has become a hub for international terrorism. Foreign aid, they claimed, is being diverted to fund terrorist activities rather than support the Afghan people.
The former Afghan security and defense forces have faced severe persecution, with over 14,000 detained, many subjected to torture, and more than 11,000 killed since the Taliban’s takeover. In the past three months alone, 59 former soldiers have been killed, and over 1,050 arrested. Many have been identified through biometric systems after being forcibly deported from Iran and Pakistan.
The Afghan people, along with the international community and Islamic scholars, have rejected the Taliban’s legitimacy. Religious leaders across the Muslim world have condemned the Taliban as a disgrace to Islam and called for their overthrow. The Afghanistan United Front reaffirmed its commitment to a future free from tyranny, where every Afghan voice is heard, and the nation’s fate is determined by its people.
