Punjab Chief Minister Praises Pakistan Army’s Response to Taliban

Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Chief Minister of Pakistan’s Punjab province, accused the Taliban of "aggression" against Pakistan and praised the Pakistani Army’s response as "commendable."

Kokcha News Agency – Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Chief Minister of Pakistan’s Punjab province, lauded the Pakistani Army’s response to the Taliban’s recent border incursions, describing it as “commendable.” In a Facebook post on Sunday, October 20, Sharif accused the Taliban of “aggression” against Pakistan and emphasized that no effort to harm Pakistan’s territorial integrity and security would be tolerated.

Sharif stated that the Pakistani Army defended the country’s borders with “courage, wisdom, and strong unity.” She described Pakistan’s borders as a “sacred trust” of the nation and emphasized that protecting them is a national duty.

These remarks come in the wake of last night’s clashes between Pakistani forces and the Taliban along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border. Taliban spokespersons had earlier announced that they had carried out retaliatory attacks against Pakistan in response to airstrikes and violations of Afghan airspace by Pakistani forces.
