Israel is mobilizing 60,000 reserve soldiers for a planned military operation to occupy Gaza City, according to security sources.

Kokcha News Agency: The details of Israel’s new plan to occupy Gaza City are becoming clearer. Following the approval of the military’s plans by Defense Minister Israel Katz, approximately 60,000 Israeli reserve soldiers will receive call-up orders starting today for the operation targeting Gaza City.

According to *The Times of Israel*, the orders do not indicate immediate urgency, and reserve soldiers will be given two weeks’ notice. The number of reserve soldiers called up is in addition to the tens of thousands already serving in reserve units. If the Gaza City operation proceeds, around 130,000 Israeli soldiers, including reserves, will be involved in the occupation.

The operation has been named “Gideon’s Chariot B,” referencing a previous operation where the Israeli military occupied 75% of Palestinian territories. Not all reserve soldiers are expected to participate in the Gaza City operation, as some will replace regular army units in other attacks.

The occupation of Gaza City is expected to displace approximately 1 million Palestinians, who will be forced to move to the southern Gaza Strip. Israeli officials have stated that Palestinians have until October 7, 2025, to evacuate Gaza City. This date coincides with the second anniversary of Hamas’s “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation against Israel.

Following the evacuation deadline, Israeli forces will launch a ground operation to encircle and occupy Gaza City.
