Netanyahu on Gaza: “I Have Ordered Immediate Negotiations”
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that he has ordered "immediate negotiations" for a ceasefire in Gaza, provided certain conditions are met. This comes as Israel continues its military operations in the region under the "Chariots of Gideon 2" plan.
Kokcha News Agency – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that he has instructed “immediate negotiations” for a ceasefire in Gaza, but only if specific conditions are fulfilled. Netanyahu’s announcement comes as Israel moves forward with the first phase of its military operation in Gaza, dubbed “Chariots of Gideon 2,” which aims to control the outer neighborhoods of Gaza City.
In a recent statement, Netanyahu said, “I have given the order to begin immediate negotiations for the release of all our hostages and to end the war under conditions acceptable to Israel.”
“WE WILL DO THIS NO MATTER WHAT”
In an interview with Sky News Australia, Netanyahu was asked whether Israel would abandon its plan to occupy Gaza if Hamas agreed to a deal. He responded, “We will do this no matter what. There was never any question that we would leave Hamas in place.”
10 GAZANS RELEASED
Meanwhile, the Israeli military has released 10 Palestinians who were detained in the Gaza Strip under inhumane conditions.
According to sources at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, the 10 Palestinians were released and entered Gaza through the “Kisufim” crossing east of Khan Younis. The released individuals were reportedly in poor health, with some showing signs of torture. They described being held under extremely harsh and inhumane conditions and subjected to torture.
“CHARIOTS OF GIDEON” OPERATION
Since May 17, Israel has been conducting intense airstrikes on the Gaza Strip as part of its “Chariots of Gideon” plan. The plan aims to “push Palestinians from the north of the Gaza Strip to the south and ensure the military remains in the occupied areas.”
Last week, Israel approved a new phase of the plan, called “Chariots of Gideon 2,” which focuses on the occupation of northern Gaza. The Israeli Security Cabinet approved the plan on August 8, and Defense Minister Yisrael Katz gave his final approval on August 20.
Since the start of the operation, 9,073 Palestinians have been killed, and 36,900 have been injured, according to reports.
