King Charles’ Former Butler Reveals Royal Secrets: “Kate is Today’s Diana”
Grant Harold, who served as King Charles' personal butler for seven years, has opened up about life behind palace doors, sharing his first impressions of Kate Middleton and shedding light on the deep rift between Princes William and Harry.
Kokcha News Agency– Grant Harold, who worked closely with the Royal Family from 2004 to 2011, has revealed intimate details about the royals, describing Kate Middleton as “today’s Princess Diana.” Speaking to *The Mirror*, Harold recalled his first encounter with Kate, who was just 22 at the time, saying, “She was like a queen in every way—her grace, intelligence, and natural charm captivated everyone.”
Harold compared Kate’s sense of humor to Diana’s, noting, “Diana used to make funny faces out of the window at Sandringham to make the staff laugh. Kate does similar things. She’s truly a clever and beautiful woman.”
The former butler also touched on the once-close relationship between Princes William and Harry, saying, “Back then, they were inseparable. They spent all their time together, going to bars and having fun. If someone had told me they would fall out, I wouldn’t have believed it. It’s really sad that they don’t speak now.”
Harold expressed hope that Harry might one day return to the fold, but not as an active member of the Royal Family. “Family rifts can heal over time, but things will never be the same,” he said.
He also shared warm memories of King Charles, describing him as “incredibly kind and thoughtful.” Harold recalled, “During dinner service, he would suddenly turn and ask, ‘Grant, how are you?’ He remembered everything and genuinely cared. He’s a very compassionate man.”
Regarding Prince William and Princess Kate’s plans to move to Forest Lodge in Windsor with their three children, Harold suggested that Buckingham Palace might eventually become more of a tourist attraction than a royal residence.
