Taliban Announces End of Operations Against Pakistan

The Taliban has declared the end of their "retaliatory operations" against Pakistan, following intense clashes along the border. The Afghan Defense Ministry stated that the operations, which targeted Pakistani security installations along the Durand Line, were successfully completed at midnight local time.

The Taliban warned that if Pakistan continues to violate Afghan airspace, they will respond decisively to defend their territory.

Pakistani Media Reports Heavy Taliban Casualties
Pakistani security sources told the news network Geo News that the Pakistani army responded with full force to Taliban attacks in eight border provinces, killing “dozens” of Taliban fighters and members of the Pakistani Taliban (TTP). The state-run Radio Pakistan reported that Afghan forces had retreated from several areas.

The sources added that Pakistani forces targeted several Taliban bases, destroying some of them and inflicting heavy casualties on Taliban and TTP members. Pakistani officials also claimed that Taliban fighters abandoned several bodies and bases after a strong Pakistani counterattack.

Taliban officials, however, reported the deaths of Pakistani soldiers during the clashes. Sources confirmed that at least two Pakistani soldiers were killed in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region bordering Paktia province.

Pakistan’s state-run radio reported that fighter jets and drones had begun strikes on TTP and ISIS-Khorasan positions inside Afghanistan. Sources claimed that Taliban forces had retreated from several areas.

Intensified Clashes in Three Border Regions
Sources confirmed that Taliban and Pakistani border forces clashed in at least three border regions, including areas near Kunar, Helmand, and Paktia. Details of casualties and damages remain unclear.

Taliban Sends Reinforcements to Border Areas
Following the clashes, Abdullah Azzam, the office head of Taliban Deputy Prime Minister Abdul Ghani Baradar, announced the deployment of fresh troops and equipment to the border regions.

Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Asif warned that Pakistan reserves the right to enter Afghan territory if militant groups continue to launch attacks from Afghanistan. He emphasized that Pakistan seeks respectful relations with Afghanistan but will not tolerate threats to its security.
