Israel Kills 20 More Palestinians in Fresh Attacks Across Gaza Strip

Kokcha News Agency – Israeli forces launched a series of attacks across the Gaza Strip on Sunday, killing at least 20 Palestinians and injuring several others. Among the victims were two children and eight people waiting for humanitarian aid, according to medical sources.

In northern Gaza, three people were killed in Israeli artillery shelling targeting the towns of Jabalia and Jabalia al-Nazla. Three more Palestinians were killed and others injured when Israeli troops opened fire on civilians waiting for aid delivery in northwestern Gaza.

In Gaza City, a woman was killed when Israeli forces struck a school in the Zeitoun neighborhood, while Israeli warplanes carried out an airstrike near Al-Shafi’i Mosque in the same area. Six people were killed when Israeli forces shelled a civilian gathering in the Sabra neighborhood of Gaza City.

Four more Palestinians were killed and several others injured when Israeli forces struck a crowd waiting for humanitarian aid near the Netzarim Corridor in central Gaza. In southern Gaza, a Palestinian man was killed and several others wounded while waiting for aid near a distribution center north of Rafah.

Two children were also killed in an airstrike targeting a tent sheltering displaced families west of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.

Meanwhile, the Israeli army demolished several residential buildings in Jabalia, Zeitoun, and Shejaiya neighborhoods in northern Gaza.

The fresh attacks come as Israel plans to reoccupy Gaza City as part of a broader strategy to reoccupy the entire Gaza Strip.

On Friday, the UN’s Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) confirmed that famine has taken hold in northern Gaza and is expected to spread further south by the end of September.

Since March 2, Israel has closed all crossings into Gaza, blocking humanitarian aid despite stockpiled aid trucks at the border. Only extremely limited quantities have been allowed in, insufficient to meet the needs of the territory’s 2.4 million population.

Israel has killed over 62,600 Palestinians in Gaza since October 2023, devastating the enclave and pushing it to the brink of famine.

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its ongoing war on the enclave.
