Deadly Traffic Accident on Kabul-Kandahar Highway; 25 Killed and 27 Injured

Kokcha News Agency: The Taliban have confirmed that a traffic accident on the Kabul-Kandahar highway resulted in 25 deaths and 27 injuries. Abdul Mateen Qane, spokesperson for the Taliban’s Ministry of Interior, stated that the accident occurred early Wednesday morning, 5th of Sunbula, at the Arghandi intersection in Kabul. According to Qane, a Type 580 bus veered off the road, and the cause of the accident was driver negligence.

This incident comes amid a recent surge in deadly traffic accidents. Just a week ago, 79 returning migrants in Herat province were burned to death in a traffic accident. Additionally, 24 others were injured in another accident in Baghlan. Two days prior, six people were killed in traffic accidents in Badakhshan and Balkh provinces.

Citizens have accused the Taliban of failing to manage traffic effectively and are calling for immediate measures to reduce such incidents.
