U.S. President Donald Trump revealed that Israel has agreed to the conditions required for a 60-day ceasefire in Gaza with Hamas. Meanwhile, Hamas has responded, stating that it is currently evaluating the proposal.
In a written statement, Hamas acknowledged the intensive efforts by mediator countries to broker a ceasefire with Israel. The statement highlighted that mediators are working to bridge the gap between the parties and are striving to reach a framework agreement and initiate a serious round of negotiations. Hamas emphasized that it is assessing the proposals from mediators with a high sense of responsibility and is conducting national consultations.
The statement also noted that the goal is to reach an agreement that ensures the “withdrawal of the occupation forces” (Israel) and the delivery of urgent humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
Trump Announces Israel’s Acceptance of Conditions
President Trump stated that Israel has accepted the necessary conditions for a 60-day ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. He mentioned that U.S. representatives held “long and productive” discussions with Israeli officials.
“Israel has accepted the necessary conditions to finalize a 60-day ceasefire. During this period, we will work with all parties to bring an end to the war,” Trump said. He also noted that Qatar and Egypt, who are mediating the ceasefire talks, will present the “final proposal” to Hamas.
