Alireza Bikdeli, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kabul, traveled to Kunar Province to deliver initial aid and assess the needs of the earthquake victims. The first shipment of aid from Iran included 80 tons of flour and oil, which were distributed to those affected by the disaster.
During his visit, Bikdeli met with representatives from the Afghan Red Crescent Society and the governors of Kunar and Nangarhar provinces. He emphasized that the purpose of his trip was to evaluate the ongoing relief efforts and identify the urgent needs of the local population. Bikdeli reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to standing by the people of Afghanistan during difficult times and expressed readiness to provide further assistance.
The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kabul extended its condolences to the Afghan government and people, expressing solidarity with the bereaved families. In a statement, the embassy prayed for divine mercy for the deceased, swift recovery for the injured, and patience for the families of the victims.
Additionally, the head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) sent a message to the Afghan Red Crescent Society, expressing condolences to the families of the victims and those affected by the disaster. The IRCS also announced its readiness to dispatch rescue and medical teams to the region to assist in relief operations.
