Gaza’s Struggle for Survival Continues in Tent Cities as Israeli Attacks Claim Over 63,000 Lives Since October 7, 2023

As Israeli attacks in Gaza continue, claiming over 63,000 lives since October 7, 2023, Palestinians are struggling to survive in tent cities. TRT, the only Turkish television network reporting from the ground, has brought the latest developments from Deir al-Balah to the world.

Kokcha News Agency reports that the humanitarian crisis in Gaza is worsening as Palestinians face relentless Israeli attacks. TRT correspondent Abdulwahab Hamad, reporting live from a tent city in central Gaza, highlighted the dire conditions. “Behind me, you see a tent city. Here, there are Palestinians who have been displaced multiple times—some five, six, or even seven times—from different parts of Gaza. Hundreds of thousands of people are trying to survive in these tents,” Hamad said.

Hamad drew attention to the United Nations’ (UN) statement that Israel has not allowed humanitarian aid into the region for the past six months. He noted that people in the tent cities are receiving very limited assistance. “The most urgent needs are water, food, and tents. The situation is getting worse by the day,” he added.

Due to Israel’s attempts to occupy Gaza City, at least 80,000 people have fled to the south, specifically Deir al-Balah. Hamad emphasized that while these people are aware that there is no safe place in the south, they have no other choice.

According to UN data, at least 2,000 people have been killed by Israeli forces at aid distribution points. Hamad stated, “People here in Gaza are facing death in all its forms. The only thing on their minds is survival and an end to this war, this nightmare. People are truly exhausted in Gaza.”

As Gazans try to shelter in tent cities, Israel continues its relentless attacks, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.
