Scientists Share Clearest Images Yet of Mysterious Interstellar Object “3I/ATLAS”
Astronomers have released the clearest images to date of the mysterious interstellar object "3I/ATLAS," revealing it to be a comet with a bright core and a tail stretching away from the Sun.

Kokcha News Agency – Scientists have unveiled the clearest images yet of the mysterious interstellar object “3I/ATLAS,” captured by the Gemini South Observatory in Chile. The images confirm that the object, which has been a topic of debate for months, is indeed a comet.
Traveling at a speed of 221,000 kilometers per hour towards the Sun, “3I/ATLAS” features a bright core and a tail extending in the opposite direction of the Sun. Dr. Mark Norris from the University of Lancaster stated, “These new images clearly show that ‘3I/ATLAS’ is a comet.”
According to Dr. Matthew Genge from Imperial College London, the comet’s atmosphere contains more carbon dioxide and less water compared to comets in our solar system. This suggests that “3I/ATLAS” formed in a much colder region of its star system, far from its host star.
Researchers believe this discovery provides crucial insights into planetary formation processes in distant star systems.
