Israel Launches Surprise Attack on Hamas Leaders in Qatar, Killing Six
In a shocking escalation, Israel conducted a surprise attack targeting Hamas leaders in Doha, Qatar, resulting in the death of six individuals, including the son of a senior Hamas leader.
Kokcha News Agency:Israel has carried out a surprise attack on the Hamas leadership in Doha, Qatar, targeting high-ranking officials, including Khaled Meshaal, the head of Hamas abroad, and Khaleel al-Hayya, a prominent leader in Gaza. The Qatari Ministry of Interior confirmed the death of one Qatari special forces officer and injuries to several other security personnel. According to Hamas, six people were killed, including Hamam al-Hayya, the son of the Hamas leader in Gaza. A Hamas source assured that top leaders were unharmed.
Reports suggest that Israel warned the U.S. and Qatar before the attack, with Israeli media claiming the U.S. gave a “green light” for the operation. Arab nations and the Arab League have condemned the strike, while Qatari media hinted that Qatar might end its mediation role in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
In related news, on September 7, Axios reported that Trump’s envoy, Vitecaf, proposed a deal to Hamas for a ceasefire and hostage release. Hamas agreed to negotiate for the release of all hostages in exchange for an end to hostilities and a complete Israeli withdrawal from Gaza.
