6 Israeli Soldiers Court-Martialed for Refusing to Return to Gaza War
Six soldiers from the Israeli Army’s Golani Brigade have been court-martialed for refusing to participate in a new round of fighting in Gaza, citing severe psychological trauma and exhaustion after two years of continuous service in the conflict zone.
Kokcha News Agency: An Israeli media outlet has reported that six soldiers from the Golani Brigade of the Israeli Army refused to return to combat in Gaza, leading to their court-martial and sentencing to prison.
According to the Hebrew Channel 13, the soldiers were supposed to enter Jabalia approximately a month ago but informed their commanders that they were suffering from severe psychological trauma and exhaustion after two years of continuous service in Gaza, where they were exposed to intense and violent scenes.
The soldiers’ refusal to return to the frontlines highlights the growing mental health crisis among Israeli troops engaged in prolonged conflict.
This incident raises questions about the long-term psychological impact of the ongoing war in Gaza on Israeli soldiers and the military’s handling of mental health issues.
