Netanyahu Loses Temper in Cabinet Meeting
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and several of his ministers launched a fierce attack on Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara during a cabinet meeting, accusing her of inaction in the face of violent protests.

DUBAI (Kokcha.News) — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and several of his ministers lashed out at Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara during a cabinet meeting, accusing her of failing to address violent protests targeting government officials.
Yifat Shasha-Biton, the Minister of Education, expressed frustration, stating, “Every day, I face violent protests outside my home. Ten cases have been opened against the protesters, but the Attorney General’s office is doing nothing.”
Transport Minister Miri Regev added, “Words can be deadly. The police are doing a great job, and I witnessed this yesterday outside the Likud conference in Petah Tikva. Twenty police officers had to escort a minister against 300 protesters.”
National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir warned, “The next political assassination is only a matter of time. I plan to meet with Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara after the murder of Charlie Kirk (an American activist). The Attorney General’s representative is here. I’m telling you: danger is coming. Wake up!”
Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai acknowledged the concerns, saying, “Minister Shasha-Biton is right. No minister or government official should be threatened. The police are doing everything to ensure safety and security. Thirteen cases have been sent to the Attorney General’s office, but cooperation is needed from that office.”
Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi questioned, “Is the Attorney General cooperating with you?”
Shabtai responded, “This is one of the issues I will discuss with the Attorney General. They must be dealt with. Either we confront the Attorney General forcefully, or we cooperate with them.”
Netanyahu, visibly angry, said, “No government meeting goes by without this issue being raised. There is no law enforcement against the instigators. The responsibility lies with the legal advisor and the Attorney General.”
He then turned to Baharav-Miara and attacked her directly, “The responsibility is yours! I’m talking to you! You’re doing nothing! Nothing! This is your responsibility!”
Regional Cooperation Minister Dudi Amsalem added, “During the protest dispersal process, I witnessed the Israeli police’s harsh treatment of right-wing protesters. A year and a half ago, I was stuck in heavy traffic with thousands of cars… I went forward and saw only five people blocking the road for tens of thousands of citizens! If the Attorney General should have been arrested for the order she gave, which stated that effective protest cannot be conducted without disrupting public order, then we must do it, because that’s the only reason they dare treat us this way!”
Social Equality Minister May Golan said, “Yesterday, when I arrived at the Petah Tikva conference, I felt that if there was no protection, I would have been killed in a violent execution by the mob! Hatred, malice, evil, and incitement from the protesters who sexually harassed me! They threw objects at me. If right-wingers had done this, 30 people would have been arrested! Left-wing protesters cannot have the privilege of spilling our blood!”
The tension between Baharav-Miara and Netanyahu stems from several key issues, including judicial reforms, appointments, and the handling of protests.
