3 More Palestinians Die of Starvation in Gaza in Last 24 Hours
Gaza Strip faces famine due to Israel’s attacks and blockade, with deaths from hunger rising.
KABUL (Kokcha.News) —In the last 24 hours, three more Palestinians have died of starvation in the Gaza Strip, according to a written statement from the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza.
The statement revealed that the total number of starvation-related deaths since October 7, 2023, has now reached 425, including 145 children. Since the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC), supported by the United Nations, declared a “famine situation” in Gaza on August 22, 147 people, including 30 children, have died due to hunger and malnutrition.
The IPC warned that the famine could spread to Deir al-Balah and Khan Younis by the end of September.
The Gaza Strip, under Israel’s relentless attacks and strict blockade, is experiencing a severe humanitarian crisis. Essential supplies such as food, water, medicine, and hygiene materials are scarce, and the population is struggling to survive. Local and international observers accuse Israel of using “hunger and thirst as weapons.”
Israel’s military has destroyed 88% of Gaza’s infrastructure and continues to target displaced Palestinians in their shelters. Approximately 2 million out of Gaza’s 2.3 million population have been displaced, with many forced to move multiple times.
Displaced Palestinians are living in makeshift tents or overcrowded schools with inadequate sanitation, leading to the spread of infectious diseases.
Despite the dire situation, the Israeli army continues its daily attacks, bombing tents and civilian shelters where displaced people are taking refuge. The international community is calling for an end to the blockade and immediate humanitarian aid to prevent further loss of life.
