Three more Palestinian journalists have lost their lives in the ongoing attacks by Israel on the Gaza Strip, bringing the total number of journalists killed since October 7, 2023, to 251, according to Gaza’s Media Office.
Kokcha News Agency— In the latest wave of attacks by Israel on the Gaza Strip, three more Palestinian journalists have been killed, raising the death toll of media workers to 251 since October 7, 2023. The Gaza Media Office announced that the journalists killed in the recent attacks were Mohammed Al-Quweifi from the Shihab News Agency, Ayman Haniyeh, a cameraman for Al-Manara Media, and Iman Zamili, a reporter for the Palestine News Network.
According to health sources, journalist Al-Quweifi was killed when an Israeli airstrike targeted a tent set up on the roof of his home in the Nasr neighborhood of Gaza. However, details about the circumstances of the deaths of the other two journalists remain unclear.
In a strongly worded statement, the Gaza Media Office condemned the systematic killing of journalists and called on international organizations, including the International Federation of Journalists and the Arab Journalists Federation, to denounce Israel’s attacks on Palestinian media workers.
The statement described the attacks as “heinous and barbaric” and held Israel, the U.S. administration, and countries like the UK, Germany, and France responsible for these crimes. It also urged the international community and organizations to take action to stop Israel’s crimes and ensure accountability for those responsible.
The ongoing violence in Gaza has resulted in the deaths of hundreds of journalists, making it one of the deadliest conflicts for media professionals in recent history.
