Netanyahu: Trump’s Plan Offers a Chance for Peace in Gaza

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has claimed that Donald Trump’s 20-point plan for Gaza offers a renewed opportunity for peace. Netanyahu emphasized the importance of Hamas disarming and ensuring Gaza is free from arms manufacturing and smuggling.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in response to former U.S. President Donald Trump’s 20-point plan for Gaza, stated that the plan provides a chance to revive peace efforts.

In an interview with CBS, Netanyahu discussed the ceasefire in Gaza, saying, “We decided to give peace a chance. The clauses of Trump’s 20-point plan are very clear. First, Hamas must lay down its weapons, and second, we must ensure that there are no arms factories in Gaza and that no weapons are smuggled. This means complete disarmament.”

Netanyahu also highlighted the first phase of the plan, which includes the release of prisoners, and called for the full implementation of the second phase. He added that Trump has emphasized that “Hamas must adhere to the plan.”

Quoting Trump, Netanyahu said, “Trump warned that if Hamas does not comply, things will fall apart. I hope that doesn’t happen.”

The Israeli Prime Minister also claimed that he has signed four historic peace agreements in the past two months, stating, “I believe the path to peace runs through strength.”

Conclusion:
Netanyahu’s endorsement of Trump’s plan underscores Israel’s commitment to disarming Hamas as a precondition for peace in Gaza. However, the success of the plan depends on Hamas’s compliance and the broader geopolitical dynamics in the region.
