Kokcha News Agency – UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric has highlighted the dire situation in Gaza, where the Israeli military’s ongoing offensive has left the population in desperate need of basic survival essentials. Speaking at a daily press briefing at the UN headquarters, Dujarric emphasized the severe conditions faced by Palestinians, particularly those displaced from northern Gaza to the south, who are forced to walk for hours without access to food, water, or shelter.
Dujarric stated, “An assessment has shown that there is a high level of need among displaced families for shelter, food, water, medical care, and every basic element of survival.” He also noted that a recent aid convoy sent to the region had been looted, depriving at least 2,700 severely malnourished children of life-saving supplies.
The UN spokesperson reiterated that Israel’s continued ground offensive is causing further displacement in Gaza, exacerbating the already critical humanitarian situation. He called for increased humanitarian aid to flow through all possible border crossings, stating, “We want to see humanitarian aid flowing into Gaza through every possible border crossing to meet the growing needs. We also want to see the remaining hostages released and reunited with their families, and we hope for a peaceful future for both Israelis and Palestinians.”
