Spanta: Taliban Are Better Servants for USA
Former Afghan Foreign Minister Rangin Dadfar Spanta has reacted to Trump's recent comments about reclaiming the Bagram Air Base, stating that America has now found "better servants" in Afghanistan. Spanta added that any agreement or disagreement between the Taliban and Washington would not change the "endless misery" of the Afghan people.
Kokcha News Agency – Former Afghan Foreign Minister Rangin Dadfar Spanta has responded to Donald Trump’s renewed call for the Taliban to return the Bagram Air Base to the United States. Trump, in a statement on Saturday, warned the Taliban that “bad things will happen” if Afghanistan does not return the base to its builders, the United States.
Spanta, in a post on his X account on Monday, September 30, wrote, “For nearly fifty years, every voice from Moscow, Islamabad, and Washington has stirred something in us. Some of us become hopeful, while others are filled with fear.”
The former National Security Advisor of Afghanistan stated that with the arrival and departure of each “master,” the people of Afghanistan have faced “worse oppression, destruction, and displacement than before.”
Spanta emphasized that the only way to save and liberate the country is to “rely on the endless strength of the people, organize, spread awareness, integrate various forms of struggle, and maintain strategic patience.”
