Israel Conducts Airstrikes on Yemen’s Capital, Sanaa
The Israeli military has launched airstrikes on multiple targets in Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, in a significant escalation of tensions with the Iran-backed Houthi rebels.

Kokcha News Agency: The Israeli military has carried out a series of airstrikes on Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, targeting several locations, including what it claims to be Houthi military facilities. The strikes were conducted while Houthi leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi was delivering a live address, according to Yemen’s Al-Masirah television channel.
In a written statement, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the attacks, describing them as a “large-scale strike on military targets” belonging to the Houthi rebels. The IDF claimed that the strikes targeted the Houthi’s so-called “General Staff Command Center” and destroyed numerous unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and weapons stockpiles.
Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz also commented on the operation via his social media account, stating that the strikes had successfully hit “multiple Houthi targets” in Sanaa.
The Houthi rebels, who control much of northern Yemen, have not yet issued a statement regarding potential casualties or the extent of the damage caused by the Israeli airstrikes.
This latest escalation comes just one day after the Houthis launched a drone attack on the southern Israeli city of Eilat, injuring at least 20 people. The Houthis have repeatedly targeted Israel with missiles and drones in recent months, claiming their actions are in solidarity with the Palestinian group Hamas.
The Israeli airstrikes on Sanaa mark a significant escalation in the ongoing tensions between Israel and the Houthi rebels, who are backed by Iran. The situation raises concerns about further regional instability, particularly in the already volatile Middle East.
