Global Solidarity Flotilla Turkey Delegation: 48 Turkish Activists Illegally Detained by Israel

Kokcha News Agency – The Global Solidarity Flotilla Turkey Delegation has revealed that 48 Turkish activists have been illegally detained by Israel during its piracy-style attack on the humanitarian aid convoy bound for Gaza. In a statement issued by the delegation’s press unit, the names of the detained activists and the ships they were on were listed.

The statement noted that all Turkish activists, except those on the Marinette ship, were illegally detained by Israel and taken to the port of Ashdod. The delegation emphasized that Israel’s actions constitute a violation of international law.

The Turkish activists detained include Abdulaziz Yalçın, Davut Daşkıran, Zeynep Dilek Tekocak, Ayçin Kantoğlu, and others on various ships such as Sirius, HUGA-A, Austral-A, Florida-A, Alma, Spectre, and more.

Turkey’s Efforts Continue
Turkish Foreign Ministry sources stated that they are closely monitoring the situation of Turkish citizens on the illegally seized vessels during Israel’s attack on the Global Solidarity Flotilla in international waters. The Turkish Embassy in Tel Aviv is working to provide consular protection to the detained citizens, and their families are being kept informed of developments.

“We Want to Reach Gaza’s Shore as a Symbol of Hope”
Sinan Akılotu, a Turkish activist aboard the Marinette ship, told Anadolu Agency (AA) that they are the last vessel in the flotilla still moving. Akılotu stated that a significant portion of the activists have been “kidnapped” by Israel and called for support, saying, “We want to reach Gaza’s shore as a symbol of hope.”

Akılotu confirmed that they have no intention of turning back and that Israel has not yet intervened against them. He also mentioned that several ships have entered Gaza’s territorial waters, but they have lost contact with them.
