According to a statement from the Israeli army, “The northern areas of the Gaza Valley are still considered a dangerous war zone, and staying in these areas poses significant risks. For this reason, Rashid Road (the coastal route connecting the north and south) remains open for your passage to the south.”
The statement also emphasized that Israeli forces continue to besiege Gaza City, and any attempts to return to the city carry significant risks. The army warned Palestinians against returning to the northern areas or approaching areas under Israeli military control.
The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that they are ready to implement the first phase of U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan for the immediate release of all Israeli prisoners.
The Israeli army and official media also reported that political officials have issued orders to halt the occupation of Gaza and limit military activities in the region for defensive purposes.
Hamas announced that it has accepted U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan for a prisoner exchange, but some other aspects of the plan require further negotiation.
Trump stated, “Based on the statement recently issued by Hamas, I believe they are ready to achieve a lasting peace. Israel must immediately stop the bombing of Gaza so that we can quickly and safely release the prisoners.”
Since October 2023, the Israeli army has carried out intense attacks on Gaza and imposed a severe blockade on the region. In these attacks, more than 66,000 Palestinians have lost their lives.
Despite the announcement to halt the occupation by Israeli officials, the army continues to force Palestinians to migrate. These actions come as the humanitarian situation in Gaza has become severely critical, with thousands of lives lost. The international community must take practical steps to stop these crimes and pressure Israel.
