Gaza Plan Cracks in Israeli Cabinet: Far-Right Minister Threatens to Resign

Tensions rise in Israel as far-right minister Ben-Gvir threatens to leave the cabinet if Hamas survives a hostage release deal, highlighting deep divisions over the Gaza plan.

Kokcha News Agency: The Gaza Plan has created divisions within the Israeli cabinet. Far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir announced that he would leave the cabinet “if Hamas continues to exist after the hostages are released.”

Far-Right Minister Threatens Resignation

Far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, following Hamas’s statement that it was ready to negotiate the plan led by President Donald Trump, made his first statement, informing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that “if Hamas continues to exist after all the hostages are released,” his party Otzma Yehudit would no longer be part of the government.

In his statement, which was reported by the Israeli press, Gvir said, “We will not be part of a national defeat.”

Accusing Hamas, Gvir said, “We cannot agree to its rebirth under any circumstances. We will not be a part of this in any way.”

Ben-Gvir had previously stated that he was considering resigning from his post and causing the government to collapse if the ceasefire plan announced by former US President Joe Biden was accepted.
