Kokcha News Agency – In a significant development, Israel and Hamas have approved the first phase of a ceasefire plan aimed at ending the conflict in Gaza. U.S. President Donald Trump announced the agreement, stating that it marks the beginning of a path toward a “strong, lasting, and eternal peace.”
Trump’s Statement:
Trump expressed pride in the agreement, emphasizing that it will lead to the release of all hostages and the withdrawal of Israeli forces to agreed-upon lines. He also thanked the mediators for their role in facilitating the deal.
“I am proud to announce that Israel and Hamas have approved the first phase of our peace plan. This means that all hostages will soon be released, and Israel will withdraw its forces as the first steps toward a strong, lasting, and eternal peace,” Trump said.
He added, “We thank the mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey who worked with us to make this historic and unprecedented event happen.”
Hamas’s Response:
In a written statement, Hamas confirmed the ceasefire agreement, which includes an end to the war in Gaza, the withdrawal of Israeli forces, the entry of humanitarian aid, and a prisoner exchange. The group expressed gratitude to the mediators, including Turkey, Qatar, Egypt, and U.S. President Donald Trump, for their efforts in reaching the deal.
“We highly appreciate the efforts of our mediating brothers in Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey. We also commend the efforts of U.S. President Donald Trump, who aimed to end the war and ensure the complete withdrawal of the occupying forces from the Gaza Strip,” the statement read.
Hamas also praised the Palestinian people for their steadfastness and sacrifices, which it said thwarted Israel’s plans of subjugation and displacement.
Qatar’s Announcement:
Qatar’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Majed Al-Ansari, confirmed the agreement on social media, stating that the mediators had reached a deal on the terms and implementation mechanisms of the ceasefire.
“The mediators announced that an agreement has been reached on all provisions and implementation mechanisms of the first phase of the ceasefire in Gaza, which will end the war, release Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners, and allow the entry of aid,” Al-Ansari said.
Netanyahu’s Statement:
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also issued a statement, expressing hope for the return of all Israeli hostages.
“With God’s help, we will bring all of them (the hostages) back,” Netanyahu said.
