Saleh: No Phenomenon Has Humiliated Afghans as Much as the Taliban

Former Afghan Vice President Amrullah Saleh stated that no phenomenon has shattered the material and spiritual lives of Afghans as much as the Taliban, emphasizing that their historical nature cannot be whitewashed by a few border clashes.

Kokcha News Agency – Amrullah Saleh, the former Vice President of Afghanistan, strongly criticized the Taliban on Sunday, October 20, stating that no phenomenon has humiliated and devastated the material and spiritual lives of the Afghan people as much as the Taliban.

Saleh dismissed the Taliban’s claims of “retaliatory operations” in recent border clashes with Pakistan, stating that the group sought mediation from Qatar and Saudi Arabia to de-escalate the conflict. He pointed to the Taliban’s historical record of violence, emphasizing that the group, with direct military support from Pakistan, has killed “tens of thousands” of Afghans over the past two decades.

The former Vice President also accused the Taliban of announcing their killings through managed social media accounts in Rawalpindi and Karachi, further highlighting the group’s ties to Pakistan.

Saleh stressed that the Taliban’s historical nature and identity cannot be whitewashed by a few border skirmishes or artillery exchanges. He reiterated that “the Taliban’s rule lacks legitimacy, and Afghanistan is without a government.”
