Guterres: Israel Must Comply with ICJ Gaza Ruling
UN Secretary-General António Guterres urged Israel to adhere to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruling requiring unimpeded delivery of essential aid to Palestinians in Gaza.

Kokcha News Agency – Guterres called the ICJ’s decision “extremely important” and stressed Israel’s obligation to meet Palestinians’ basic needs, emphasizing that “starvation as a weapon of war is unacceptable.”
The ICJ’s Wednesday statement ordered Israel not to obstruct UN humanitarian efforts in Palestinian territories and found no evidence of bias in UNRWA’s aid distribution.
The ruling follows a fragile October 2025 ceasefire deal brokered by the U.S., Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey, which included prisoner exchanges and gradual Israeli withdrawal.
The two-year war, launched by Israel in October 2023, killed over 68,000 Palestinians and wounded 170,000. White House officials now fear PM Netanyahu may destabilize the agreement.
