Ceasefire and Prisoner Exchange Agreement in Gaza
US President Donald Trump announced on October 9 that Israel and Hamas had approved the first phase of a ceasefire plan in Gaza in ongoing negotiations in Egypt.
While the agreement was signed in Egypt, where the negotiations were held, it came into effect on October 10 with the approval of the Israeli government.
After the Israeli army withdrew to the “yellow line” as stated in the agreement, it was announced that the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip entered into force as of 12.00 on the same day.
Despite the ceasefire reached in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army continues to carry out attacks against Palestinians with various claims from time to time.
