U.S. Military Strikes Venezuela – Major Explosions Reported in Caracas

The U.S. has launched military strikes against Venezuela, targeting military facilities in and around Caracas. At least 7 major explosions were reported, causing widespread power outages. Venezuela’s government has condemned the attack, declared a national state of emergency, and mobilized defense forces. International leaders are calling for urgent UN and OAS meetings.

Early this morning, U.S. forces carried out targeted airstrikes on multiple military sites in Venezuela, including the Higuerote Airport and defense installations in the capital, Caracas. Local sources reported at least 7 large explosions, leading to significant power outages and the deployment of armored military vehicles in the streets.

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro issued a statement strongly condemning the strikes as a “blatant violation of the United Nations Charter.” He has declared a nationwide state of emergency and activated all national defense protocols under constitutional and national security laws.

The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has suspended all American commercial flights through Venezuelan airspace, citing “ongoing military activities.”

World leaders, including the presidents of Colombia and Cuba, have denounced the attack. Colombian President Gustavo Petro stated, “Caracas is being bombed right now,” and called for an immediate meeting of the UN and Organization of American States (OAS).
