Russian Attacks in Ukraine Leave Civilians Dead and Injured; Drone Strikes in Russia Also Claim Lives
Ukrainian emergency services reported that two people were killed and 10 injured after a Russian attack, while in Russia’s Lipetsk region, a Ukrainian drone strike resulted in the death of an elderly woman and injured two others.
Ukrainian emergency services shared images of the aftermath of a Russian attack, showing debris and vehicles damaged by the strike. According to officials, the attack left two people dead and 10 others injured.
In a separate incident, Odesa Governor Oleg Kiper announced that six people, including two children, were injured when Russia targeted a multi-story residential building.
Russia:
In Russia’s Lipetsk region, debris from a Ukrainian drone strike caused the death of an elderly woman and injured two others. Lipetsk Governor Igor Artamonov stated on Telegram that the drone fragments hit a building in Lipetsk, located about 400 kilometers southeast of Moscow, killing a woman in her 70s.
In the nearby city of Yelets, another drone struck a building, prompting the evacuation of residents. No casualties were reported in this incident.
Military Context:
A Ukrainian official linked to the National Security Council claimed that a facility producing “batteries for missile guidance and correction systems” was targeted. Meanwhile, Russia’s Defense Ministry announced that 69 Ukrainian drones, most of them over the border region of Belgorod, were destroyed overnight.
Ukraine’s Air Force reported that 20 Russian drones were shot down, with Russia launching a total of 52 drones.
