US-Iran Nuclear Talks: Fifth Round Allegedly Set for Oslo

US media outlet Axios has reported that the fifth round of nuclear negotiations between the US and Iran could take place in Oslo next week, marking a potential resumption of direct talks following recent tensions.

According to Axios, citing White House sources, the talks are expected to take place in Norway next week. The same representatives from both sides are likely to participate in the negotiations.

Key Participants:
The US delegation is expected to be led by Steve Witkoff, the White House Special Envoy for the Middle East, while Iran will be represented by Abbas Araghchi, the Deputy Foreign Minister.

Significance of the Talks:
If the meeting takes place, it would mark the first direct talks between the two countries since last month’s attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities. The negotiations aim to address ongoing disputes over Iran’s nuclear program and potentially revive the 2015 nuclear deal (JCPOA).

Recent Developments:
Earlier this week, Tehran enacted a new law suspending all cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), further escalating tensions over its nuclear activities.
