Russia’s Recognition of the Taliban: A Strategic Move Amid International Isolation

Russia is seeking to build closer ties with actors that are considered “unwanted” by the West, such as the Taliban, Iran, and North Korea. By doing so, Russia aims to form a coalition that is independent of Western-dominated international institutions.
