‘American dream’ message: Russian Minister Lavrov congratulates US
Following Russian President Vladimir Putin’s gesture, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has also congratulated the United States on its Independence Day, expressing a desire to further develop cooperation with Washington.
In a statement released by the Russian Foreign Ministry, Lavrov conveyed Russia’s continued support for “the unity of the United States and the realization of the American dream.” Lavrov emphasized that Russia is ready to enhance cooperation with the U.S., stating:
“I look forward to further developing bilateral relations in a constructive, mutually respectful direction that promotes stability and predictability, taking into account national interests shaped by history, geography, and on-the-ground realities.”
This message comes a day after Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated U.S. President Donald Trump on Independence Day during a phone call between the two leaders.
Lavrov’s remarks highlight Russia’s ongoing efforts to improve relations with the U.S., despite the complex geopolitical tensions and sanctions between the two countries.
